While Haines and Skagway are only fifteen miles apart by water, the bike route travels three hundred and sixty miles through some of the most breathtaking scenery in Alaska and Canada. On this ride you pass by three National and Provincial parks that compromise the largest protected wilderness area in the world.

You ride in the footsteps of northern pioneers like the gold rush stampeders of 1898 and the US Army troops who constructed the Alaskan-Canadian Highway (ALCAN) during WW II. Finally, marvel at the tales and culture of the native people of Southeast Alaska and the Southern Yukon.
You start your ride in the Alaskan town of Haines heading up the Haines Road to the Chilkat Pass in British Columbia Canada. Breath in the fresh mountain air and dazzle at the spectacular vista. You continue to Haines Junction, YT on the border of Kluane Provincial Park, home to some of North America's tallest peaks. You then turn onto the ALCAN and pedal toward the capital of the Yukon Territory, Whitehorse. Your journey continues along the Yukon River as you bike south turning onto the Klondike Highway on your way to historic Skagway, AK.

This tour is vehicle supported and combines comfortable wilderness camping with stays at local B&Bs and hotels. We dine on locally harvested gourmet Alaskan cuisine. Your local guide informs you about the history and ecology of the region and caters to your needs. This tour provides a wonderful introduction to life in the north and lets you experience the vast wilderness of Alaska and northern Canada in comfort. Join us for an unforgettable journey!

Guided price includes hybrid touring bike, helmet, camping gear, lodging and meals from day 1 dinner through day 9 breakfast, (except day 6 dinner). Guests must be confident riding a bicycle with hand brakes. Helmets are required. A passport and other necessary immigration documents are required for this trip.

Lodging, meals, and sag wagon not provided on the self-guided tour.
